Mauldin Men’s Non-Fiction Book Club takes on Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense” at Senior Center

Local history buffs and non-fiction readers are invited to gather for an upcoming literary discussion focusing on one of the most influential political pamphlets in American history.
The Mauldin Men’s Non-Fiction Book Club, co-hosted by community member Tom Hohman, will host its next monthly meeting at the Mauldin Senior Center, located at 203 Corn Road.
Revolutionary Ideas on the Table
This month’s featured selection is Common Sense, the seminal 1776 work by Founding Father Thomas Paine. Published on the eve of the American Revolution, Paine’s passionate defense of American independence challenged British monarchy rule and helped galvanize public support for the Declaration of Independence.
The monthly gathering offers a relaxed environment for local residents to analyze historical texts, exchange perspectives, and debate classic non-fiction literature.
