Capstone Church celebrates grand opening of new campus in Fountain Inn
August 5, 2026The 14,000-square-foot expansion was thoughtfully designed to accommodate a growing congregation as well as serve the broader Fountain Inn community.
Capstone Church officially opened the doors to its newly expanded campus on Sunday, August 2, marking the completion of a project designed to create more opportunities for worship, connection, and community in Fountain Inn. More than 750 people attended Sunday’s services at 601 Fairview Street to celebrate Capstone’s grand opening.
P+F Construction served as Construction Manager for the expansion, partnering with Capstone Church and Equip Studio to bring the church’s Advance the Kingdom vision to life. The project reflects Capstone’s long-term commitment to creating spaces that not only support its growing congregation but also serve the surrounding community throughout the week.
“This celebration represents so much more than the opening of a building,” said Walt Tanner, Vision and Teaching Pastor of Capstone Church. “It’s the fulfillment of a vision God has been growing in our church for years—a place where people can encounter Jesus, families can build meaningful relationships, and our community can find hope and belonging. Every space was designed with our community in mind, and we’re excited to see how God uses this campus for years to come.”
The expansion adds approximately 14,288 square feet of building to the campus, as well as improvements to the site overall. Those improvements include:
- Gymnasium / multi-purpose worship space
- New lobby and welcome area
- Staff offices and meeting spaces
- Outdoor gathering areas and playground
- Additional parking, site improvements and infrastructure
Rather than simply increasing capacity, the project was designed around a broader vision: creating a welcoming campus where ministry, relationships, and community life intersect. From worship services and children’s programming to recreational activities and community events, the new spaces were intentionally planned to serve people throughout the week while supporting Capstone Church’s mission for years to come.
The project includes a gymnasium that serves as the primary worship venue on Sundays while functioning as a recreation and community gathering space throughout the week, a new central lobby and welcome area, children’s ministry enhancements, offices for church staff and leadership, and outdoor green space designed for families and community events.
“One of the things we appreciated most about working with Capstone Church was the clarity of their mission,” said Steve Foushee, Co-Founder and Vice President of Project Management at P+F Construction. “From the beginning, every decision was rooted in how this facility could better serve people and advance ministry. As a company, we consider it a privilege to partner with churches on projects that have an impact beyond the construction process.”
Construction began in August 2025 and was completed over approximately 10 months, requiring close coordination between the church, design team, trade partners, and construction team to allow ministry activities to continue throughout the process. P+F worked alongside Equip Architects to deliver a facility that balances functionality, durability and thoughtful design while remaining aligned with the church’s vision and stewardship goals.
“Church projects are unique because the work of the church continues throughout construction,” said Will Prescott, Co-Founder and Vice President of Field Operations at P+F Construction. “Ministry continues every week, volunteers remain active, and there’s a deep responsibility to steward resources well. Our field team took great pride in delivering a quality facility while minimizing disruption throughout the project. We’re grateful to celebrate this milestone alongside the Capstone family.”
