Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital earns top U.S. News & World Report recognition for spinal fusion and hip fracture treatment

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. — Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital has earned the highest distinction available in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Hospitals 2026-2027 procedures and conditions ratings.
The hospital received “High Performing” recognition in two areas of care: back surgery (spinal fusion) and hip fracture treatment. A High Performing rating is the highest award a hospital can receive in the U.S. News & World Report’s procedures and conditions rankings. 
The designation indicates that Tidelands Waccamaw performed significantly better than the national average in those areas. Ratings are based entirely on objective quality measures using data from millions of patient records provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
