Laurens County Museum’s Festival of Trees returns for a second season

The Laurens County Museum is bringing back its Festival of Trees this holiday season and is inviting the community to help fill the museum with Christmas cheer.
The display will run Nov. 7 through Jan. 2, and registration is open now for anyone who would like to decorate a tree.
Museum officials said the first Festival of Trees drew such a strong response that organizers decided to make it an annual tradition. The event is designed to give residents an easy way to take part in something festive close to home while supporting the museum’s work of preserving Laurens County history.
Participation is open to individuals, families, civic organizations, businesses, churches and nonprofits. Each participant supplies a tree and decorates it around a theme of their choosing, which gives groups a chance to show off a little creativity and, in the case of businesses and nonprofits, introduce themselves to visitors who may not know their story.
Visitors touring the display will be able to vote for their favorites, and winners will be announced after the festival closes Jan. 2.
