City of Georgetown announces the return of “Movies in the Park” at East Bay Park

The City of Georgetown and Keep Georgetown Beautiful SC are bringing back the popular Movies in the Park series on Friday, September 11, at the Bobby Alford Pavilion in East Bay Park.

The evening’s festivities kick off at 5:00 pm with live music and family-friendly entertainment featuring DJ Midd, along with local food trucks and free popcorn for attendees. The outdoor film screening begins at 7:30 pm, featuring Columbia Pictures’ animated film The GOAT (2026, PG | 93-minute runtime), starring Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Jenifer Lewis, and David Harbour.

Community members are encouraged to gather family and friends for a night under the stars. Attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating and weather-appropriate outdoor gear for their comfort. In the event of rain, the event will take place on Sunday, September 20.

Additional movies scheduled include Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers on Friday October 23, and How to Train a Dragon on Friday, November 13.  Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
