Ignite Theatrical to Bring Disney’s ‘Newsies’ to The Younts Center with Record-Breaking Cast

Theater lovers in the Golden Strip have something major to sing about this September. Ignite Theatrical has announced that tickets are officially on sale for its upcoming production of Disney’s Tony Award-winning smash hit, Newsies, taking place at The Younts Center for Performing Arts.
Running from September 11 through September 26, 2026, the show promises to be a landmark moment for local arts. Organizers revealed that this production features over 70 performers, making it the largest community theater cast ever assembled to take the stage at The Younts Center.
Based on the inspiring real-life Newsboys’ Strike of 1899 in New York City, Newsies tells the story of a ragged band of young paper deliverers who stand up against powerful publishing titans. The production features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein, packed with iconic, high-energy numbers and athletic choreography.
In addition to the massive ensemble, local theatergoers can expect spectacular set designs, powerful vocal arrangements, and dynamic dance sequences built to showcase the talent across the Upstate community.
