Georgetown Business Association recognizes Linda Bradley as its Volunteer of the Year for 2026

The Georgetown Business Association has created a new annual award to honor members who go above and beyond for the organization, naming Linda Bradley its 2026 Volunteer of the Year. Bradley was recognized for coordinating this summer’s Music in the Park series and supporting other GBA programs and events.
The award will be known as the Linda Bradley Volunteer of the Year Award in future years. 
Bradley relocated to Georgetown in 2017 and remains active with the GBA, the Kaminski House Museum and the Friends of the Georgetown Library, where she currently serves as president.
In other business, work continues to prepare for the Georgetown Art & Wine Walk festival, scheduled for September 12 and 13 in downtown Georgetown. Deb Smith is recruiting volunteers to help with setup and breakdown, the Kids Studio, the awards ceremony and gallery and station coverage throughout the festival grounds. The final Music in the Park concert of the season will be held on Friday, August 28, at 6:00 p.m. in Maritime Park and will feature the popular beach music band The Embers. Admission is free, and beverage tents will be available for refreshments on site. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and dancing shoes. 
President Greg Metcalf also said the board is exploring a potential fall concert, possibly in November, outside Winyah Brewing Company. Dru Ford with The George Hotel will chair next year’s Food, Beer & Wine Festival, and Karen Owens, publisher of the Georgetown SC Gazette, will lead the organization’s Christmas festivities. Owens was also elected to serve a three-year term on the GBA Board.
The next monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, September 8, at 6:00 p.m. at Corner Tavern.
