Colliers represents Barron’s Outfitters in historic move to new Millwood Avenue location

August 14, 2026

Rox Pollard Jr., John Gressette and Rox Pollard III of Colliers | South Carolina represented Barron’s Outfitters in the lease of 5,629 square feet at 2927 Millwood Avenue.

Barron’s Outfitters has been in operation at 1725 Harden Street since 1947 when it was founded by Charlie Barron. It is the oldest hunting and fishing gear store in Columbia. After nearly 80 years, Barron’s Outfitters will be relocating to Millwood Avenue in the building that housed DeLoache Flowers for over 70 years. Barron’s will open in their new location on Monday, August 17, 2026.

“This new location ensures that Barron’s will thrive and continue to provide the highest level of service to our multi-generational customers. It has been an honor for my family and me to be a part of the Barron’s tradition for the past 28 years,” said owner Kent Parsons. “I was only 23 years old when my late father, Dr. George Parsons, and I began this journey. While he was a loyal patron for years, it took time for me to fully understand what this establishment means to our community. As I met more of our long-standing customers, it became clear that I had a responsibility to uphold the standards established by the previous owners, Charlie Barron and David Kinder: to offer high-quality goods alongside the highest standard of service. With the incredible support and encouragement from my wife, Shannon, our sons—Sterling, Campbell, Graham and Jennings—and my mother, Dr. Mary Ann Parsons, we are excited to begin this next chapter.”

“With the growing demand for its premium products and services, Barron’s began evaluating the need for a larger, more modern space while not moving too far from its Harden Street location. We were proud to assist the business with a comprehensive search for a new property for several years,” said Rox Pollard Jr. “Investors purchased the former DeLoache Flowers building with a plan to redevelop the property and Barron’s recognized it as the perfect fit. It will provide Barron’s and its customers with a spacious showroom and a place to carry on its legacy of servicing Columbia’s hunters and fishers with the best outdoor equipment available.”

Pollard, Gressette and Pollard III are part of Colliers’ Retail Services Team in Columbia, specializing in the sale, leasing and development consultation of retail properties of all sizes across South Carolina.
