Katee Fletcher, academic resource specialist in the Engineering and Industrial Technology (EIT) Division at Tri-County Technical College, was presented the highest award given to staff on August 12.

Fletcher was honored with the Linda C. and Dr. Ralph D. Elliott Presidential Medallion for Staff Excellence at the College’s fall convocation. The medallion is named for Linda and Ralph Elliott in recognition of their commitment to higher education and their generous contributions to the College and is presented each year to the staff member who best exemplifies the College philosophy and has contributed the most during the academic year to the development of the College and students.

TCTC President Galen DeHay made the award presentation.

“Katee exemplifies Tri-County’s commitment to student success through her unwavering dedication to students, faculty, and staff. Known across the College for her responsiveness, expertise, and willingness to help, Katee consistently goes above and beyond to remove barriers, solve complex challenges, and ensure students have the support they need to achieve their educational and career goals,” said President DeHay.

Fletcher’s colleagues describe her as the person who always has an answer, always finds a solution, and always puts students first. Her professionalism, compassion, collaborative spirit, and positive attitude have earned the trust and respect of faculty, staff, administrators, and students throughout the College.

“Katee consistently delivers premier service through her responsiveness, accuracy, and proactive support of faculty, students and administration,” said Paul Phelps, dean of the EIT Division. “She approaches every interaction with a high level of care and professionalism, ensuring that students feel supported and that faculty needs are met. Whether assisting a student navigating the enrollment process or supporting faculty with complex scheduling needs, Katee’s service is both timely and thoughtful, reflecting a genuine commitment to student and institutional success.”

Fletcher has an Associate of Arts degree from Patrick & Henry Community College in Virginia, a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Georgia Southwestern State University, and a Master of Arts degree in teaching from National University in California.

Prior to joining TCTC, Fletcher served as an admissions advisor for military and veterans’ programs at National University for three years. She joined TCTC in 2015 as a success coach and transitioned to her current role as academic resource specialist in 2021.
