North Charleston POPS! announces new Executive Director and 2026–2027 Board of Directors

The North Charleston POPS! announced the appointment of Frank Duvall as its new Executive Director, along with its 2026–2027 Board of Directors. The new leadership team will guide the organization as it continues its mission of bringing high-quality, accessible music and cultural experiences to the North Charleston community.

For years, North Charleston POPS! has brought the joy of live music to audiences throughout the Lowcountry through its dynamic concert series, community events, and educational programming. POPS! is committed to making music accessible, welcoming, and meaningful for audiences of all ages.

Frank Duvall Named Executive Director
Duvall brings a lifelong passion for music, education, and community engagement to his new role. His professional music career began in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Specialist (E-4) trumpet player at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina.

A musician, educator, composer, and arranger, Duvall earned degrees in Jazz Performance and Composition & Arranging from the University of South Carolina. He has performed with legendary jazz pianist Marian McPartland, in New York City jazz clubs and off-Broadway productions, and with the Charleston Jazz Orchestra. He also directs the Forte Big Band.

Duvall teaches jazz bass, jazz piano, and music history at the College of Charleston. His extensive experience as a performer, educator, and military musician brings a unique perspective to POPS! as the organization continues to grow its programming and reach within the community.

A New Season of Music and Community

North Charleston POPS! is thrilled to unveil its 2026–2027 concert series, featuring an exciting lineup of holiday classics, legendary movie music, Motown favorites, and iconic American hits. The season promises something for every music lover, with family-friendly performances and memorable collaborations with local artists.

The celebration begins with the return of the free Fall Jazz in the Park series at Riverfront Park, starting September 1. POPS! will also continue its children’s programming, inspiring the next generation through the joy of music.

With new leadership and a dedicated Board of Directors, POPS! looks forward to another season of music, community, and connection.
