Barnabas Horse Foundation earns Candid’s highest honor for nonprofit transparency

The Barnabas Horse Foundation is proud to announce that it has officially earned the 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency—the highest level of recognition awarded by Candid (formerly GuideStar).

What the Platinum Seal Means 

While many non-profits share basic mission statements, earning Candid’s Platinum Seal requires an extraordinary level of openness and accountability. To reach Platinum status, an organization must complete Bronze, Silver, and Gold requirements before publishing concrete strategic goals, board demographics, and verifiable quantitative impact metrics. 

• Elite Recognition: In Candid’s most recent published study breaking down Seal levels, only 6% of the nearly 149,000 nonprofits analyzed achieved Platinum status.
• Measurable Accountability: This badge is far more than a website icon—it represents rigorous financial disclosures, governance standards, and clear metrics demonstrating the tangible difference Barnabas makes.
• Proven Community Impact: For Barnabas, this designation validates a steadfast commitment to providing free trauma-focused, equine-assisted services to survivors of crime, veterans, and first responders.

Support the Mission at the “Circle of Compassion” Black Tie Gala 

Community members looking to celebrate this milestone and support Barnabas’s ongoing programs can attend the upcoming signature fundraising event, the Circle of Compassion Black Tie Gala. This elegant evening will take place on Saturday, September 26 beginning at 5:30 pm, at The Village House at Litchfield, located at 13089 Ocean Hwy, Pawleys Island, SC 29585.

The evening features a plated surf and turf dinner, appetizers, dessert, a cash bar, interactive Bingo, fabulous silent auction items and door prizes.
