Swig Drinks opens on Woodruff Road in Mauldin

A soda shop chain known for customizable fountain drinks has opened in Mauldin.
Swig Drinks is now serving customers at 1534 Woodruff Road. While the address carries a Greenville mailing designation, the store sits within Mauldin city limits. City officials announced the opening on the city’s Facebook page and encouraged residents to stop in and welcome the business.
The shop specializes in dirty sodas, fountain drinks mixed with flavored syrups, purees and creams, along with refreshers, energy drinks and cookies.
Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Swig began in 2010 as a single drive-thru in St. George, Utah, founded by Nicole Tanner. The company is widely credited with launching the dirty soda trend, which gained national attention in recent years through social media. The chain has since grown to more than 160 locations across roughly two dozen states, with continued expansion planned.
The Mauldin store adds to the steady commercial growth along the Woodruff Road corridor, one of the Upstate’s busiest retail stretches.
