Center for Community Services asks community to help stock its shelves

August 19, 2026

The Center for Community Services is asking Golden Strip residents to help restock its shelves through a hygiene, household and pet food drive benefiting local families in need.

The Simpsonville-based nonprofit is collecting everyday essentials that are not covered by most food assistance programs, along with pet food for families working to keep their animals at home.

Hygiene items on the request list include shampoo and conditioner, bar soap and deodorant. Household and cleaning needs include dish soap, general cleaning supplies, toilet paper and paper towels. The organization is also collecting dry and canned dog food and dry and canned cat food.

Donors have two ways to give.

Those who prefer to shop locally can purchase items and deliver them to the Center for Community Services at 1102 Howard Drive, Building 7, in Simpsonville. Donation drop-off hours are 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday and Friday and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Donors who would rather order online can shop the center’s Amazon wish list by clicking here.

Organizers said every donation, regardless of size, helps the center meet ongoing requests from neighbors across the community.
