Quackenbush Architects + Planners welcomes new interior designer

August 24, 2026

Quackenbush Architects + Planners announced Elvira Gutierrez-Larios to the Q+ team as an interior designer.

Gutierrez-Larios, a recent graduate of Winthrop University, earned her Bachelor of Design in Interior Design in May 2026. During her time at Winthrop, she developed a strong interest in creating thoughtful, engaging environments that enhance the daily experiences of the people who use them.

Gutierrez-Larios says she was drawn to Quackenbush because of the firm’s commitment to designing innovative spaces that respond to their unique context and contribute positively to the surrounding community. “I’m excited to continue growing as a designer while contributing to a collaborative team and gaining experience across a variety of projects,” she says.

Through her studies and a summer internship with an interior design firm, Gutierrez-Larios gained experience in space planning, technical documentation, and visual communication, while also developing her skills in client communication and project coordination. The experience reinforced her interest in creating thoughtful, functional environments and the importance of collaboration and attention to detail throughout the design process.

“We’re excited to welcome Elvira to the Q+ team,” says Quackenbush Architects + Planners President Doug Quackenbush. “Her perspective as a young interior designer will be a valuable addition to our collaborative design process, and we look forward to the creativity and insight she will bring to our projects.”
