The Embers to close out Georgetown Business Association’s Music in the Park series this Friday

August 26, 2026

The Georgetown Business Association will conclude its summer Music in the Park series this Friday with a performance by iconic Southern beach music band The Embers featuring Craig Woolard.

The free concert will take place in Maritime Park starting at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the evening’s festivities. Beer and wine will be available for purchase on site during the event.

Considered a true musical institution, The Embers have laid the groundwork for the genre known as “Beach Music” across the Carolinas and the broader Southeast. Active for more than six decades since forming in 1958, the band has earned the moniker of North Carolina’s Official Ambassadors of Music. Inducted into the North and South Carolina Music Halls of Fame as well as the South Carolina Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame, the group maintains a rigorous touring schedule averaging more than 200 shows per year.

Known as the “Heart and Soul of Beach Music,” The Embers boast a vast discography anchored by signature hits like “I Love Beach Music”—often hailed as the national anthem of beach music—and “What You Do To Me.” Led by dynamic frontman and multiple-time Carolina Beach Music Awards Entertainer of the Year Craig Woolard, the band delivers a high-energy mix of soul, rhythm and blues, and classic pop favorites.

Friday’s performance marks the final date of this season’s Music in the Park concert series. Community members of all ages are invited to come out for an evening of live music, shag dancing, and local community spirit.
