Tidelands Health residency graduate joins family medicine practice in Murrells Inlet
August 27, 2026People across the region now have expanded access to comprehensive primary care with the addition of Mitchell Thomas, DO, to Tidelands Health Family Medicine.
A board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Thomas provides comprehensive care for children and adults, focusing on whole-patient well-being and taking time to understand each patient’s unique health needs. Dr. Thomas explores conservative treatment options that support long-term health while providing expert care for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, asthma and diabetes, as well as wellness exams and minor in-office procedures.
Dr. Thomas sees patients at Tidelands Health Family Medicine at Murrells Inlet and is accepting new patients.
A graduate of the University of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Thomas completed the Tidelands Health MUSC Health Family Medicine Residency Program, where he cared for patients throughout his training. His transition to Tidelands Health Family Medicine in Murrells Inlet allows those patients to maintain an established relationship with their physician while continuing to receive care close to home.
“Our residency program helps recruit, train and retain exceptional physicians to meet the health care needs of our fast-growing region,” said Dr. Sean Nguyen, chief medical officer at Tidelands Health. “We’re proud that Dr. Thomas has chosen to continue serving our community and that patients can continue their care with him in Murrells Inlet.”
Dr. Thomas is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Thomas, call 1-866-TIDELANDS or use the My Tidelands Health app, featuring MyChart.
