Georgetown County to host public information drop-in on Local Option Sales Tax

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. — Georgetown County will host a public information drop-in session on Thursday, September 10, 2026, to inform residents about the proposed Local Option Sales Tax.
The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Murrells Inlet Community Center, located at 4462 Murrells Inlet Road, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
Residents are invited to stop by at any time during event hours to speak directly with county staff, ask questions, and learn key details regarding the tax proposal, including:
- How the Local Option Sales Tax works
- How generated revenue would be allocated and distributed across the county
- The potential impact on local property taxes and county services
The session is designed strictly for informational purposes, and no formal registration or RSVP is required to attend.
