SJWD Water District welcomes Jaclyn Langella as Director of Asset Management

Startex-Jackson-Wellford-Duncan Water District (SJWD) announced the appointment of Jaclyn Langella as Director of Asset Management. Langella brings more than 12 years of experience in geographic information systems (GIS), utility infrastructure, and asset management to the role.
As Director of Asset Management, Langella will help advance SJWD’s approach to infrastructure planning and management, supporting innovation, operational excellence, and positive outcomes for the District’s customers.
“Jaclyn brings the kind of technical expertise and forward-thinking perspective that will help SJWD make smarter, more informed decisions about our infrastructure and more,” said Jeff Diaz, SJWD Chief Information and Services Officer. “She has a proven track record of leading digital transformation at scale and has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing others through her work as a GIS educator and mentor. That combination of innovation, leadership, and knowledge-sharing will be a tremendous asset as we plan for growth and continue improving service for our customers.”
Before joining SJWD, Langella served as GIS Supervisor at Veolia North America, where she led strategic asset management initiatives, modernized the organization’s geodatabase architecture, and integrated utility network design. During her tenure, the New Jersey Utilities Association recognized her for outstanding service and dedication to the utility industry. Langella is also an active contributor to the American Water Works Association and WaterNow Alliance.
Beyond her professional work, Langella is committed to developing the next generation of water and technology professionals. She previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Hofstra University, where she taught Introduction to Digital Mapping and mentored hundreds of students throughout her academic career.
