East Main Street closed in Clinton for manhole repairs

The city of Clinton has closed a section of East Main Street until further notice while crews repair a manhole cover at the intersection of Clay Street and East Main Street.
According to a traffic change notice issued by the city, the closure runs from Geraldine’s Soup Kitchen to Pitts Music.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and to exercise caution near the work area.
City officials said they appreciate the public’s patience while the necessary repairs are completed, noting the work is part of ongoing efforts to improve Clinton’s infrastructure.
No date has been announced for the road to reopen.
