Laurens County Humane Society sets Chips and Tips clinic for Sept. 19

The Laurens County Humane Society will host its Chips and Tips clinic Saturday, Sept. 19, at 793 Poplar St. in Clinton, offering low-cost vaccinations, microchipping and other pet services on a walk-in basis.

Check-in runs from 2 to 3 p.m. at the building entrance. No appointment is needed, and every animal checked in during that window will be seen.

Services and prices are as follows:

Nail trim, $10
Rabies vaccination, $10
DHPP vaccination, $15
Bordetella vaccination, $12
Microchipping, $20
Heartworm testing, $14
Heartworm prevention, $10 per pill for one month
Flea and tick medication, $20 per pill for one month
Feline FVRCP vaccination, $12
Dewormer for hooks and rounds, $5

All animals brought to the clinic must have proof of a current rabies vaccination before any other service can be provided. Pet owners who cannot show proof will need to purchase the rabies vaccination at the event. Tags on a collar do not count as proof.

Flea and tick medication and heartworm prevention are prescription items, so pets must have been seen by the humane society within the past 12 months to purchase them.

The clinic is open to all breeds, with no limit on the number of animals per household, and residents of any county are welcome.

Payment will be accepted in cash or by card only. A $5 transaction fee applies to card payments.

Organizers expect a busy day and asked visitors to park in designated areas, leave pets in their vehicles until called and check in at the building entrance. Owners will be called on a first-come, first-served basis. Cats should be in carriers, and dogs should be on a leash or in a carrier.
