A Call to Action: Saint Frances Animal Center needs your help with hoarding case survivors

In July 2026, the Saint Frances Animal Center(opens in new tab) (SFAC) in Georgetown, South Carolina, faced the largest cruelty and neglect response in its history. Called in by local law enforcement, the SFAC team brought 116 suffering dogs and cats to safety from severe hoarding conditions.

Over the past two months, staff and volunteers have worked around the clock bathing, shaving matted coats, treating severe wounds, and providing much-needed affection to these traumatized animals. Now, as the survivors continue their journey toward recovery, the shelter needs the community’s support to finish what was started.
