Friends of the Waccamaw Library set to host annual fall luncheon fundraiser

September 14, 2026

The Friends of the Waccamaw Library (FOWL) are gearing up for one of their most anticipated community gatherings of the year—the Annual Fall FOWL Luncheon. Serving as the organization’s second-largest fundraiser after the Friends Center itself, the event will bring together approximately 300 guests at Pawleys Plantation for an afternoon of community, dining, and giving back.

Scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, the event kicks off with a social hour from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the luncheon from noon to 1:30 pm.  Tickets are $45 each and are available for purchase in person at The Friends Center inside the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library.

Ways to Support the Friends

Attendees will have numerous opportunities to participate in the day’s fundraising efforts:

  • Silent & Live Auctions: The event features both a live auction and a silent auction featuring items donated by community members.

  • Drawings: Guests can participate in prize drawings for curated package groupings throughout the afternoon.

  • Item Donations: FOWL is currently accepting donations for the luncheon. Needed items include home decor, clothing, purses, and jewelry. Donations can be dropped off at the Friends Center or arranged for pickup by calling (843) 545-3387.

All proceeds from the luncheon directly benefit the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library. Funds raised go toward supporting adult and children’s educational programming, purchasing new books and technology, and addressing key facility needs.
