Conestee Nature Preserve to host sound and forest bathing experience

September 14, 2026

Upstate residents looking to disconnect from the digital grind and reset in nature will have a dedicated space to recharge this weekend, as Conestee Nature Preserve hosts Roots and Resonance, a Sound and Forest Bathing Experience.

The 90-minute workshop takes place Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. General admission tickets are $30 (plus a $0.75 service fee), and the program is open to adults ages 18 and older. Participants are asked to arrive by 9:50 a.m. so the session can start promptly.

Led by Latoya, founder of SoulShine Roots & Resonance, the guided session blends mindfulness practices, sensory awareness, and nature connection with an extended instrumental sound journey. Rather than a typical hike along the preserve’s trail system, the workshop invites attendees to slow down, notice the surrounding forest ecosystem, engage their senses, and pause for intentional reflection.

The experience concludes with an immersive soundscape that harmonizes acoustic instruments with the natural woodland sounds of the preserve to foster rest and stress relief. Organizers emphasize that no prior meditation or sound bath experience is required to participate.

The exact trail meeting spot within the preserve will be announced to registered guests ahead of the event, with a final reminder and location details sent out via email on Friday afternoon. In the event of inclement weather, organizers will notify participants of cancellations by email; refunds require a three-day advance notice.
