SCDOT to hold open house public meeting about proposed intersection improvement project in Georgetown County

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will hold an open house public information meeting to share plans for a proposed intersection improvement project on S-46 (Waverly Road) at S-450 (Petigru Drive(opens in new tab)) in Georgetown County.
The proposed project will replace the existing intersection with a roundabout to improve safety and traffic operations. SCDOT will provide preliminary design information and details about potential impacts of the project during the drop-in public information meeting.
The drop-in style meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Waccamaw Intermediate School, 320 Wildcat Way, Pawleys Island, SC 29585. There will not be a formal presentation. SCDOT representatives will be available to discuss project plans with attendees and answer questions. Project materials will be added to the project website on or before the date of the scheduled public meeting.
