Georgetown Wooden Boat Show adds inaugural Maritime Mahjong Regatta to weekend lineup

The Georgetown Wooden Boat Show has announced the addition of a new event to its upcoming annual festival, introducing the Inaugural Maritime Mahjong Regatta(opens in new tab) sponsored by Middle and Main Mahjong.
The regatta will take place on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. under the tent at 723 Front St., serving as the closing event for the Wooden Boat Show weekend.
Designed for both veteran players and beginners, the event features social play alongside a competitive table decorating contest. Participants are encouraged to form teams and decorate their tables around mahjong or wooden boat themes for a chance to win prizes.
Admission includes access to a mimosa bar and a catered box lunch. Mahjong sets will be provided on-site, though attendees are invited to bring their own sets if preferred. Individual tickets are priced at $75, and full tables for four guests can be reserved for $300. Due to limited space, organizers anticipate the event will sell out.
