Clemson music professors to perform violin and piano recital at Presbyterian College

Two Clemson University music faculty members will perform a violin and piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, in Edmunds Hall at Presbyterian College in Clinton.

Violinist Leslie Taylor Warlick and pianist Linda Li-Bleuel will present works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Florence Price, Margaret Bonds and Katahj Copley.

Li-Bleuel is a professor of music in Clemson’s Department of Performing Arts, where she teaches piano and music history. She performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician, with recent appearances in Argentina and China, and has taught in Taiwan as a Fulbright scholar. She also serves on the Music Teachers National Association’s National Certification Commission.

Warlick teaches violin, viola and music appreciation at Clemson and coaches the Clemson University String Quartet. She previously performed with the New World Symphony in Miami under Michael Tilson Thomas and the Naples Philharmonic in Florida, and has appeared with Upstate chamber series including Pan Harmonia and the Anderson Chamber Music Series.

The two musicians have collaborated before. In 2014, they joined saxophonist John Bleuel, Li-Bleuel’s husband, to give the world premiere of Lucie Robert-Diessel’s “Interrogations” at the 17th World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, France.
