Sheriff’s Office yard sale to support Christmas for Kids program

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office will hold a community yard sale Saturday, Oct. 3, to raise money for its Christmas for Kids program, which helps provide Christmas gifts for local children.

The sale will run from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the back parking lot of the former DHEC building at 93 Human Services Road in Clinton. All proceeds will go to the Christmas for Kids program.

The Sheriff’s Office is now collecting donations of gently used items to be sold during the event. Residents who would rather sell their own items are welcome to bring their own tables and set up at the sale. Organizers ask sellers to make a donation to the Christmas for Kids program in exchange for the space.

“Christmas for Kids is one of the most meaningful things our office does each year,” said Sheriff Don Reynolds. “This yard sale gives everyone in Laurens County a chance to be part of it, whether that means cleaning out a closet, setting up a table or coming out Saturday morning to shop. Every dollar raised helps make Christmas special for a child right here at home.”

Courtney Snow, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said donations are already needed as the event approaches.

“We are asking the community to look around their homes for gently used items that could find a new home and help a child at the same time,” Snow said. “Clothing, household goods, decor and other good condition items all make a difference. If you would like to sell your own things, just bring a table and your items, and we ask for a donation to the program.”
