Fountain Inn Parks and Rec Launches ‘Fall for FIAC’ Family Night and Pumpkin Contest

The City of Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation Department has introduced a new seasonal community program, inviting local families to kick off autumn with an evening of hands-on activities, seasonal crafts, and friendly competition.

Titled “Fall for FIAC,” the family night is scheduled for Friday, October 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Fountain Inn Activities Center, located at 610 Fairview Street.

The evening features a DIY trick-or-treat bag station, a caramel apple bar, and a pumpkin painting contest. The department will supply all paints, craft tools, and decorating materials on-site, though participants are welcome to bring their own pumpkin to paint. Under contest guidelines, only pumpkins decorated during the event using the provided supplies will be eligible for entry—pre-painted submissions will not be accepted.

Judging will feature an intergenerational twist, with entries evaluated by participants from the Fountain Inn Activities Center’s 55+ senior program. The winning creation will be announced on Monday, October 12, across the department’s official Facebook and Instagram channels, where the winner will be awarded a prize. Following judging, families will be able to return to the facility to pick up their painted pumpkins to take home for fall display.

Registration for the event is $5 per child and must be completed in advance through the Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation online portal.
