Downtown Pet Banners Raise Over $1,300 for Fountain Inn Police K-9 Unit

A community fundraiser spotlighting local four-legged family members along Main Street has raised $1,372.50 to support the Fountain Inn Police Department’s K-9 Unit.

The initiative, spearheaded by Gabe Jenkins and Laura Wedell-Jenkins, offered residents the opportunity to purchase personalized pet banners displayed on light poles throughout downtown Fountain Inn. The colorful banners celebrate local companion animals while directing all proceeds straight to the police department’s working canine program.

The funds will benefit K-9s Chops and Deuce, aiding the department in covering future training seminars, specialized equipment, and operational development to keep the canine handlers sharp and field-ready.

The Jenkins family recently met with Police Chief Patrick Fortenberry, Officer Kunz, and K-9 Deuce at police headquarters to formally present the donation.

Department officials commended both the Jenkins family for organizing the project and downtown visitors for rallying behind local law enforcement, noting that the community’s backing directly enhances safety initiatives across the city.
