Equidae Insurance welcomes Erica Rector as Vice President of Growth & Development

Equidae Insurance announced that Erica Rector has joined the agency’s leadership team as Vice President of Growth & Development, bringing more than 20 years of insurance experience and a lifelong connection to agriculture and the equestrian community.

In her new role, Rector will work alongside the Equidae team to grow and develop the agency’s presence in the personal lines market while helping clients take a more comprehensive approach to protecting the people, property and businesses that matter most.

The partnership brings together Rector’s established insurance practice, Erica Rector Advisory Group, and Equidae’s longstanding expertise in equine and farm insurance. Together, the organizations are building on Equidae’s strong foundation while expanding the agency’s ability to serve individuals and families with a broader range of insurance needs.

“Insurance should never be one-size-fits-all,” said Rector. “Every client has a different lifestyle, different priorities and different things they’re working to protect. My goal has always been to listen first, understand what matters most to each person and then help them build a thoughtful insurance portfolio around their needs.”

Rector’s approach is grounded in relationships and a belief that the fundamentals of good business still matter. Her philosophy is simple: treat people the way you would want to be treated, listen carefully and put the relationship first.

That philosophy aligns closely with Equidae’s vision for its next chapter.

A lifelong South Carolinian, Rector is a graduate of Columbia College and holds the LUTCF® (Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow) designation. She is licensed in Property, Casualty, Life and Health insurance.

Her connection to agriculture and the equestrian community is also deeply personal. A fourth-generation equestrian with longstanding agricultural roots, Rector understands firsthand the unique needs of farms, animals and the families who care for them. She also serves her community as a Fire Commissioner for the Dunklin Fire Department.

Through her work with Equidae, Rector will help clients navigate a broad range of personal and commercial insurance needs, including home, auto, watercraft, valuables, farm and agricultural coverage, equine insurance, health and life insurance, and business coverage.

“After more than two decades in this business, the relationships I build with my clients are still the most important part of what I do,” Rector said. “I want people to know they have someone they can call, someone who knows them and someone who will give them a straightforward answer.
