Brookgreen Gardens welcomes fall with Annual Harvest Home Weekend

Family favorite returns October 3–4 with pumpkin decorating, scarecrow building, live music and more

Brookgreen Gardens will celebrate the start of fall with its annual Harvest Home Weekend on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Arboretum.

The family-friendly weekend will bring back several favorite seasonal traditions, including the pumpkin patch, scarecrow building, hay maze, craft activities, and live music throughout both days. Guests can choose and decorate their own pumpkin, with small pumpkins available for $5 and large pumpkins for $9. Families can also build a scarecrow using Brookgreen’s ready-to-assemble “mystery scarecrow” kits or bring an outfit from home to make their owncreation. Scarecrows are $7 to take home, or free for guests who bring their own outfit.

Live entertainment will include Doug & the Doc at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and the Sea-Cruz Duo at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Food and refreshments will be available from Harvest Restaurant, The Old Kitchen, and The Courtyard Cafe, along with food trucks including EZ Cheezy, Let’s Ride BBQ, Kona Ice, and Beachside Fluff.

Harvest Home Weekend is free for Brookgreen Gardens members and included with Garden admission for non-members. Additional fees apply for pumpkins and scarecrow kits, and supplies are limited.
