Fountain Inn Miracle League opens 2026 season with community support from Fury football

September 28, 2026

Monday nights in Fountain Inn are once again filled with the sounds of cheering crowds and bats making contact as the Fountain Inn Miracle League officially kicked off its 2026 season.

The program, which provides local youth with disabilities the opportunity to step up to the plate and experience the joy of organized baseball, held the first of its scheduled six “Miracle Mondays” this week.

Opening night saw an influx of community spirit as student-athletes from the Fountain Inn Fury football team showed up in force to volunteer alongside players. The high school players served as on-field buddies—assisting athletes around the bases, offering encouragement, and helping ensure an unforgettable evening for participating families.

“Despite what they go through every day, they enjoy playing the game, and that makes you want to have the energy to come out and support them even more,” said City of Fountain Inn Recreation Director James Rice.

The Miracle League operates on an accessible, custom-designed surface that allows children of all mobility levels and developmental backgrounds to run, wheel, and hit safely. Beyond the mechanics of the game, the weekly gatherings serve as a vital hub of connection, belonging, and celebration for local families.

With five Miracle Mondays remaining on the 2026 schedule, city recreation officials noted that community volunteers are always welcome and needed to serve as buddies, cheerleaders, and event helpers throughout the season.

Those interested in volunteering or supporting the league can find more information through the City of Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation Department.
