September 30, 2026

Laurens County Council Chairman Jeff Carroll and Councilman Matthew Brownlee, who serves as council vice chairman, have endorsed Rick Shealy in his campaign for South Carolina House District 14.

Shealy, the Republican nominee, is on the ballot in the general election Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Carroll said Shealy understands the issues facing Laurens County families and businesses because he has lived and worked alongside them for years.

“Rick is someone who listens first and acts with conviction,” Carroll said. “County government works best when we have partners in Columbia who know our community and will fight for it. Rick will be that partner, and I am proud to support him.”
Brownlee said Shealy’s experience and character make him the right choice for District 14.

“Rick brings real world experience, common sense and a genuine love for this county,” Brownlee said. “He will stand up for our conservative values, and he will make sure the voices of Laurens County residents are heard in the Statehouse.”

Shealy said he is grateful for the support of both county leaders.
“Jeff and Matthew have worked hard to move Laurens County forward, and their endorsement means a great deal to me,” Shealy said. “Strong communication between county council and our legislative delegation is essential. I look forward to working with them to deliver results for the people of District 14.”
