Free Halloween movie night brings “Casper” to the Capitol Theatre
October 4, 2026
The City of Laurens will host a free showing of “Casper” at the Capitol Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 8, as part of its spooky season programming.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, and seating is first come, first served. Because seating is limited, the city encourages moviegoers to arrive early. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Released in 1995 and rated PG, “Casper” follows a friendly ghost who befriends a young girl after she and her father move into a haunted mansion. The pair soon encounter Casper’s three mischievous ghost uncles, who stir up plenty of trouble along the way.
The nostalgic family film offers an easy way for families to kick off the Halloween season together in downtown Laurens.
