Gathering at the Garden: Carolina Human Reinvestment hosts Farm-to-Table fundraising dinner

October 12, 2026

Community members, local food enthusiasts, and supporters of youth development will gather for an unforgettable evening under the stars at the annual Farm to Table Fundraising Dinner in support of Carolina Human Reinvestment (CHRSC). The event will be held on Sunday, November 1 at 5:30 pm.

Set on the scenic grounds of the CHRSC Community Garden in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, this annual tradition brings together local cuisine, live entertainment, and community spirit—all centered around CHRSC’s mission to empower youth and foster intergenerational connection throughout Georgetown County.

A Feast Rooted in Local Tradition

Guests at the Farm to Table event will enjoy an intimate al fresco dining experience featuring locally sourced, sustainably grown, and freshly harvested cuisine. The menu highlights seasonal meats and seafood paired with fresh vegetables picked straight from Swamp Farm and the CHRSC Community Garden.

The culinary experience is spearheaded by Chef Adam Kirby and the team behind regional favorites Bistro 217 and Rustic Table. Diners can expect carefully curated wine pairings, local brews from New South Brewery, handcrafted Tito’s cocktails, and seasonal desserts to cap off the meal.

Beyond the plate, the evening offers live music provided by Doc and Papa Jim, a vibrant atmosphere, and the opportunity to celebrate the tangible impact of local ecological and community programming.

Growing Youth, Feeding Communities: The #TeachFeedSucceed Mission

All proceeds from the Farm to Table dinner directly support CHRSC’s core programs, including its community garden initiatives and youth mentorship efforts.

Guided by the motto #TeachFeedSucceed, CHRSC uses a holistic approach to address youth development, health, education, and ecological sustainability. Through hands-on experiences in the community garden, local youth learn the fundamentals of agriculture, nutrition, and environmental stewardship while building meaningful mentorship relationships with older community members.

“As the community garden grows, so do the gardeners,” notes Giany Guedjo, Executive Director. “By teaching young people how to grow their own food and engage with their environment, the organization helps develop future leaders while bridging social and socioeconomic gaps across the region.”
