Get in the Game: Mauldin Recreation Expands Adult Sports Lineup with Soccer, Pickleball, and Basketball

October 5, 2026

Mauldin Recreation is expanding its adult athletics lineup, rolling out dedicated leagues for soccer, pickleball, and basketball designed for players of all skill and fitness levels.

Organizers emphasize that these new programs aim to give busy adults a convenient, relaxed environment close to home where they can enjoy friendly competition, pick up instruction as needed, and build lasting community ties.

“Our goal is to create a well-rounded recreation program that provides meaningful experiences for residents of all ages,” said Assistant Recreation Director Willie Stewart. “By expanding our adult sports offerings, we’re providing opportunities for people of different backgrounds and skill levels to connect through athletics, build relationships and enjoy recreational activities within their community.”

Looking Ahead: Spring Pickleball and Basketball

For court enthusiasts, Mauldin’s current co-ed pickleball league is actively underway at the Ray W. Hopkins Mauldin Senior Center, but a new spring session is already on the horizon. The next pickleball league will launch in mid-March 2027, with registration officially opening Feb. 1, 2027.

Hoops fans can also look forward to an adult basketball league debuting in March 2027, with sign-ups also opening on Feb. 1, 2027.

“With Mauldin Recreation, our goal is community, so we want to bring people together and give them an opportunity to do something they enjoy, build some friendships and stay active through sports,” said Adult Programs and Community Events Coordinator Rehana Gonzalez. “We’re competing, but at the same time we’re also just having fun.”
