College of Charleston MBA receives national recognition from Bloomberg Businessweek
October 5, 2026The College of Charleston School of Business has been named to Bloomberg Businessweek’s 2026-2027 Best B-Schools list for its full-time, one-year MBA. It is the only program in South Carolina to be included.
This recognition highlights the School of Business’ commitment to equipping graduates with the experience, knowledge and real-world tools to excel as members of the global marketplace.
“Our MBA program is designed to prepare students not just for their next job, but for long-term career success,” says Paul Schwager, Ph.D., dean of the College of Charleston School of Business. “Recognition from Bloomberg Businessweek reflects the collective efforts of the faculty, staff and partners who help ensure our students graduate ready to deliver results with integrity and lead with purpose.”
Bloomberg Businessweek bases its rankings on the indexes of Compensation, Learning, Networking, Entrepreneurship, and Inclusion using a user-oriented approach. Graduating students, recruiters, and recent graduates are surveyed on what matters most to them, and how the program meets those needs.
“Our small, high-touch MBA is making a big impact. Charleston has long been a great place to visit; but it’s also a nationally recognized place to learn, grow and launch a career,” says Charles Schnitzlein, Ph.D., program director. “Rankings are a snapshot, but this one confirms what our graduates and employers already know.”
The recognition proves the dedication and hard work of faculty, staff and students. Through the experiential nature of the coursework, as well as engagement from alumni and the wider business community, MBA candidates are poised for success before their first class.
