Neighborhood pet store joins center’s growing lineup as Aston’s renovation moves forward

Pet Supplies Plus is coming to Powdersville Plaza, Aston’s shopping center at 3526 Hwy 153 in Greenville, South Carolina. The neighborhood pet store will give local pet owners a convenient option close to home for food, supplies, and care services, rounding out the center’s lineup of everyday retailers.

The 6,600-square-foot store will be independently owned and operated by Ken Crowder of Mooresville, North Carolina, and will offer a wide selection of pet food, treats, toys, and supplies, along with grooming services and a self-service dog wash. Crowder plans to tailor the product mix to the needs of local pet owners.

“Pet Supplies Plus is a natural addition to Powdersville Plaza, giving neighbors a convenient place to pick up what their pets need or bring them in for grooming,” said Barnes Connell, managing director at Aston. “With refreshed storefronts and a new Publix on the way, we’re thinking about how the whole center can better serve the people who rely on it every day.”

Crowder shared that he was drawn to Powdersville by the area’s growth and sense of community.

“We’re excited to open here and get to know the people and pets who call Powdersville home,” Crowder said. “We want to be a store neighbors can count on for the products they need and a team that’s happy to help.”

Before becoming a Pet Supplies Plus franchise owner, Crowder owned and operated fitness centers in the Charlotte area and served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Powdersville Plaza will be his second location, following a Salisbury, North Carolina, store opening in December 2026.

“Our goal is simple: to do good, sell good products, and take great care of our employees, our customers, and their pets,” Crowder added.

Pet Supplies Plus is the latest addition to Powdersville Plaza as Aston’s renovation of the center moves forward. The project includes refreshed storefronts, site upgrades, and a new Publix, all aimed at making the center a stronger everyday destination for the surrounding area.

Pet Supplies Plus is slated to open in spring 2027. For more information about Pet Supplies Plus visit www.petsuppliesplus.com. For leasing and more information about Powdersville Plaza, visit www.astonprop.com or contact Molly Morgan at [email protected].
