The Storytellers of the Forest –  Acrylic by Debanjana Bhattacharjee – Rebecca Randall Bryan Best in Show Award, 2025

The exhibition honors a rich artistic tradition that helped bring the Art Museum to life. In the late 1980s, a visionary group of local art enthusiasts—led by artists from the Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild—helped lay the foundation for the Art Museum. In spring 1969, the Guild established a tradition of art exhibitions that continues to this day. Today, the Art Museum proudly hosts the Guild’s annual juried exhibition in recognition of its enduring contribution to its founding.

Visitors can explore an exciting range of two- and three-dimensional works in a variety of media, all created by local artists within the past two years. This year’s entries will be judged by Maura H. Kenny, a Pawleys Island painter and art educator.

From fresh perspectives to exceptional craftsmanship, the exhibition offers a wonderful opportunity to discover the talent thriving in our own backyard. Come experience the creativity and be part of this long-standing local arts tradition!
