Pawleys Island Moose Lodge to celebrate opening of new Georgetown home

October 16, 2026

Pawleys Island Moose Lodge 2628 will celebrate the opening of its new lodge home at 810 Elizabeth St. in Georgetown’s Maryville neighborhood on Saturday, Oct. 24, beginning at 4 p.m.

“All members, family and friends are invited to come raise a glass, share some good food and help celebrate the beginning of many wonderful years in our new forever home,” Lodge President Robert Wolff said. “We are excited to begin this new chapter with the people who make our lodge a family.”

Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served during the grand opening celebration.

The nonprofit fraternal organization meets twice a month and supports charitable and community programs. Its broader mission includes caring for children and teenagers at Mooseheart Child City and School, a 1,000-acre campus west of Chicago, and supporting senior members at Moosehaven, a 70-acre retirement community near Jacksonville, Florida.

Locally, the lodge recently provided a pregame meal for a B football team and hosts karaoke nights for members and other community residents.

Moose lodges also offer activities for individuals and families, including holiday parties, dances, sports, themed dinners and live entertainment.

The organization describes its work as bringing people together, serving local communities and supporting the children at Mooseheart and senior members at Moosehaven.

Neighbors and community members are encouraged to attend the grand opening and learn more about The Moose and its local programs.
