Clinton Canopy invites community to plant ‘Daffodils for Remembrance’ Nov. 14
October 17, 2026Residents looking for a way to honor someone special while adding color to the city this spring can grab a trowel and join Clinton Canopy next month.
The local nonprofit will host its third annual Daffodils for Remembrance planting Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers will gather on the grassy area at the corner of East Maple Street and South Broad Street on the Presbyterian College campus to plant 600 daffodil bulbs. A Community Assistance Grant is funding the project.
When the bulbs bloom each spring, the bright yellow flowers will serve as a reminder of resilience, renewal and remembrance for everyone passing through that corner of town.
“Daffodils mark the arrival of spring and serve as a powerful symbol of hope and beauty,” said Heather Tiller of Clinton Canopy. “We look forward to honoring loved ones while continuing to beautify Clinton together.”
Dedicate bulbs to someone special
Community members can request a free set of daffodil bulbs to dedicate in memory or in honor of a family member, friend or co-worker. Every name dedicated will be displayed on the Clinton Canopy website.

If you go
The planting runs from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the corner of East Maple Street and South Broad Street on the Presbyterian College campus. Parking is available along Maple Street and in the lot next to Belk Auditorium.
Other ways to take part
Residents who cannot make it on Nov. 14 still have options. Participants can schedule an appointment to plant their bulbs earlier that week, or they can ask Clinton Canopy volunteers to plant the bulbs for them.
Organizers also encourage homeowners and business owners to plant yellow daffodils on their own property, helping spread spring color across all of Clinton.
A growing tradition
Since launching the event, Clinton Canopy has brightened several well-traveled spots around the city. Past plantings have added daffodils to the “V” at Willard Road and North Adair Street, along the historic downtown railroad tracks and in front of Clinton Elementary School on Highway 72.
