Roadwork Ahead: City of Mauldin Launches Multi-Week Paving Project on Six City-Owned Streets
October 19, 2026Drivers navigating Mauldin will want to pad their morning commutes and keep an eye out for orange cones over the next month.
The City of Mauldin announced that street repaving operations officially begin the week of October 19 on six city-owned roadways across municipal limits. The project is projected to run for approximately three to four weeks, concluding in mid-November depending on weather conditions.
Streets Scheduled for Resurfacing
Crews will focus resurfacing efforts on the following city-maintained corridors:
- Brookbend Road
- South Park Drive
- Whatley Circle
- Fargo Street
- Holland Road
- Moore Street
Traffic Flow and Motorist Impact
According to city officials, roads will not be shut down entirely during operations. Instead, work will proceed under single-lane closures, leaving the adjoining lane open to handle passing vehicles.
While through-access will remain open, motorists traveling near work zones are urged to slow down, stay alert for construction flaggers and equipment, and anticipate minor traffic delays during peak hours.
Funding Infrastructure Improvements
The capital improvement project is financed through the City of Mauldin’s dedicated transportation fund, supplemented by municipal surplus funds carried over from the prior fiscal budget year.
Residents with daily travel routes along these neighborhoods are encouraged to map alternative routes during active work hours to avoid equipment congestion.
