The Force Arrives in Mauldin: Swamp Rabbits’ Mascot Stomper Visits City Hall Ahead of ‘Star Wars Night’
October 21, 2026Galactic excitement made its way into the Golden Strip this week as the Greenville Swamp Rabbits brought an early preview of one of their biggest annual hockey traditions straight to Mauldin.
Stomper, the beloved mascot of the ECHL’s Swamp Rabbits, made a surprise appearance across the City of Mauldin, playfully challenging municipal employees to a series of lightsaber duels in the hallways. The visit drummed up community spirit ahead of the team’s upcoming “Star Wars Night,” scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026.
The intergalactic showdown will see the Swamp Rabbits defend home ice against their South Division rivals, the Atlanta Gladiators, at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in downtown Greenville. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM, with arena doors opening an hour prior.
Fans attending the themed matchup are encouraged to arrive in full cosplay—from Jedi robes to Stormtrooper armor—and lightsabers are welcome inside the arena. The evening will feature movie-themed promotions, in-game sound effects, visual tributes from across the franchise, and appearances by Star Wars characters throughout the concourse.
To celebrate the partnership between the team and the local community, Mauldin residents are eligible for exclusive discounted ticket pricing for the game. Residents can claim promotional rate seats online by visiting the team’s dedicated community portal at swamprabbits.com/mauldin.
