City of Greenville Parks, Recreation & Tourism introduces free adult hiking series ‘Trail Mix’

October 26, 2026

Adult outdoor enthusiasts looking to discover local trails, build endurance, and connect with fellow nature lovers will have a new way to explore the Upstate this November.

Greenville Parks, Recreation & Tourism has announced “Trail Mix: City of Greenville,” a free, three-part guided hiking series created to introduce adults to regional natural spaces while progressively building trail-walking confidence.

The series is structured to gradually step up in distance and difficulty across three consecutive Tuesday mornings, making it an accessible option whether participants are brand-new hikers finding their footing or seasoned walkers eager to explore local pathways at a social, comfortable pace.

A Step-by-Step Hiking Progression

The three outings transition from gentle urban park paths to forested nature preserves, concluding with foothill terrain:

  • Session 1: Cleveland Park

    • When: Tuesday, November 3 | 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

    • Focus: An approachable, paved one-hour kickoff along the Reedy River corridor, ideal for loosening up and getting acquainted with fellow hikers.

  • Session 2: Conestee Nature Preserve

    • When: Tuesday, November 10 | 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

    • Focus: A two-hour excursion through hardwood canopies, boardwalks, and wetland pathways bordered by rich wildlife habitats.

  • Session 3: Paris Mountain State Park

    • When: Tuesday, November 17 | 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

    • Focus: A two-and-a-half-hour finale navigating undulating mountain trails, rocky foothill ascents, and scenic lake views.
