Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission rolls out paperless billing, 24/7 payment options on Nov. 1
October 28, 2026Managing monthly utility bills is about to become more flexible for thousands of households and businesses across Laurens County.
The Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission (LCWSC) announced it will launch a suite of modernized billing and payment features beginning Sunday, November 1, 2026. The updates are aimed at streamlining account management, expanding digital convenience, and giving customers more control over how and when they settle their accounts.
EXPANDED DIGITAL FLEXIBILITY AND AUTOPAY
Leading the update is the introduction of official paperless billing paired with flexible scheduled payments. Rather than waiting on paper statements to arrive in the mail, customers will be able to receive electronic notifications and due-date reminders straight to their email inboxes.
Key features taking effect Nov. 1 include:
-
Custom Payment Scheduling: Customers can choose a specific payment date that fits their household budget ahead of the statement due date.
-
Streamlined AutoPay: Automatic recurring payments can be linked to a credit/debit card or directly to a checking account, drafted automatically on the bill’s due date to avoid late fees.
-
Paperless Billing & Alerts: Enrollees can view statements online and receive advance email reminders as payment deadlines approach.
-
Around-the-Clock Payments: Customers can make payments 24/7 by text message or through an automated phone system simply by entering their LCWSC account number.
BROAD ARRAY OF PAYMENT CHANNELS
To accommodate modern payment preferences, the commission is expanding accepted tender across both its digital portal and phone systems.
Starting next month, LCWSC customers will have the option to pay via:
-
Major Credit & Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
-
Digital Wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo.
-
Direct Bank Transfer: Electronic checks (eCheck).
Utility officials noted that existing online account holders will not need to create a new profile to access the updated payment options, and the commission does not assess added convenience surcharges for paying electronically.
