Fountain Inn utility warehouse glows pink as city workers rally for Breast Cancer Awareness
October 27, 2026In a vibrant display of community solidarity, the City of Fountain Inn swapped its usual municipal work gear for shades of rose last Friday, illuminating city facilities and donning pink in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The city’s Utility Complex Warehouse was illuminated in a vivid pink glow, serving as an evening beacon of support visible across the municipal grounds. Earlier that day, crews from the Fountain Inn Public Works Department turned out in pink apparel, setting aside their customary high-visibility neon to stand alongside survivors, patients currently undergoing treatment, and families impacted by the disease.
“Together, we stand in support of survivors, those currently fighting, and the families affected every day of the year,” city officials shared in an announcement highlighting the department-wide effort.
The visual tribute is part of broader annual observances across Greenville and Laurens counties throughout October, aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer risks, the critical importance of routine mammograms, and early detection resources available to Upstate residents.
For Fountain Inn’s public works and utilities personnel—teams typically recognized for maintaining city streets, sanitation, and essential water and gas infrastructure—the initiative offered an opportunity to leverage civic spaces to champion a deeply personal cause felt across the local community.
