Gio’s Pastry partners with Italian American Festival of the Upstate for ‘Mangia for a Mission’ fundraiser

November 4, 2026

Downtown Fountain Inn favorite Gio’s Pastry, Caffe and Italian Market is teaming up with the Italian American Festival of the Upstate this weekend to turn sweet treats and Italian specialties into community impact.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, Gio’s—located at 218 S. Main St. in Fountain Inn—will donate a portion of the day’s total sales to support “Mangia for a Mission,” a charitable giving campaign spearheaded by the Italian American Festival of the Upstate.

Carrying the motto “Eat Local and Make a Difference,” the Mangia for a Mission initiative connects local diners and food lovers with regional Italian establishments to raise vital funds for nonprofit service organizations. The Italian American Festival of the Upstate operates as a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating cultural heritage while supporting local and national charities, student scholarships, and community initiatives throughout the year.

Known across the Golden Strip for its scratch-made cannoli, sfogliatelle, rainbow cookies, espresso bar, and specialty Italian grocery staples, Gio’s will contribute proceeds from customer purchases made throughout Saturday’s operating hours.

“Come see us Saturday as we donate a portion of our sales to Mangia for a Mission,” shop owners shared, encouraging neighbors from across Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn to stop by, pick up weekend pastries or pantry goods, and support the broader cause.

Gio’s Pastry Shop is open on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Community members looking to take part simply need to shop or dine in person during regular Saturday hours.
