Simpsonville Fire Department engineers Feusse and Glinyany earn paramedic certifications
November 4, 2026The Simpsonville Fire Department has announced a major professional milestone for two of its own, recognizing Engineers Jonathan Feusse and Mathew Glinyany for achieving their official Paramedic certifications.
The advanced credentials mark the culmination of more than a year of intensive commitment. Over the past twelve months, both firefighters balanced their active shift duties with rigorous classroom coursework, clinical rotations, and intensive emergency field training required to earn national and state paramedic accreditation.
Paramedic certification represents the highest tier of pre-hospital emergency medical credentialing, allowing emergency personnel to administer critical medications, provide advanced airway management, interpret complex electrocardiograms (EKGs), and deliver life-saving interventions during cardiac, trauma, and medical emergencies.
Department leadership commended the pair for their drive and dedication, emphasizing the direct impact their expanded skill set brings to emergency response across the City of Simpsonville and surrounding Golden Strip neighborhoods.
“Their newly acquired certifications will significantly enhance our ability to maintain the highest standards of service for our community,” the department shared in an announcement honoring the engineers. “We appreciate your continued dedication and hard work with our department.”
As front-line engineers, Feusse and Glinyany are responsible for safely operating apparatus and pumping systems on fire scenes, while also serving as senior emergency responders on medical calls across the city. Their achievement bolsters the department’s advanced life support capabilities, ensuring rapid, expert clinical care arrives when seconds count most.
