Armed Forces Day Parade and Celebration

What: Parade to honor active duty members, reserves and veterans of the armed force.

When: Saturday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m.

Where: Main Street from McBee Avenue to Markley Street

Who: Active duty members, reserves and veterans of the armed forces and local community members who support them

Why: To express Greenville’s appreciation for the sacrifices our soldiers, sailors, and airmen and women make on behalf of the nation. Honor Flight Upstate South Carolina will be highlighted in both the parade and celebration, as its World War II honorees participate in the day’s festivities. Honor Flight Upstate South Carolina has flown nearly 800 World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see their memorial since its founding in 2007. The event is hosted and sponsored by Lockheed Martin, The Fluor Government Group, Furman University Army ROTC, Greenville County Schools, the Greenville Drive and various Upstate veterans’ groups.
