CLEMSON, SC – April 8, 2010 – Charles E. Hodges II, a 1992 graduate of Clemson University, has given $25,000 to the College of Business and Behavioral Science to establish The Hodges Family Scholarship Endowment for Business.

Hodges is an attorney with Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Martin law firm in Atlanta and specializes in civil and criminal federal tax law and complex tax planning. Following his graduation from Clemson, he earned a law degree from Mercer University and a Master of Law degree from the University of Florida.

“Support of scholarships is a perfect way to give back to the institution that is so important to me,” Hodges said. “I can’t think of a better time than now to give back, especially with the funding cuts to education. Lack of additional support could impact the opportunities Clemson can provide.”

Chuck has a vision for helping students achieve their dreams, and his action will make a difference in their lives. His generous support exemplifies his commitment to education and shows his dedication to the college’s future, said Claude Lilly, dean of the College of Business and Behavioral Science. We appreciate Chuck’s confidence in our ability to shape the leaders of tomorrow.

Hodges is a columnist for the Journal of Taxation and has written numerous articles for the Journal of Taxation, Estate Planning and Journal of Exempts, and has been cited in media outlets including the Wall Street Journal’s online publications, Financial Advisor and Atlanta Business Chronicle.
